Once the eggs from the silk worm emerge, they are then fed mulberry leaves. The young caterpillars get bigger quickly, in merely thirty five days they happen to be ten thousand times heavier in comparison with when first hatched. At this point they begin to turn a silk cocoon.
The silk manufacture begins with the worm, it is actually produced from glands in the silkworm's head. The silk is now spun out in fluid shape through openings called spinneret. When this liquid touches the surroundings, it becomes solid and forms silk. These little worms can each spin about a mile of silk and they engulf by themselves in a cocoon more than a couple of days.
